STING

August 10, 2003

Early in his career, Sting lived the life of a rock rebel as he and his band The Police “fell fairly deeply into AA—Alienation and Anger,” the multiple Grammy-winner said. “This can be hard on the loved ones, but I suppose history has proven it’s often quite saleable.” In this cover story, he reflected on what meant the most to him now: family (he had six children he was close to), home and spreading kindness. Next up was his album Sacred Love, full of songs that captured his current frame of mind.
