GARTH BROOKS

Dec. 12, 2001

When two-time Grammy winner Brooks spoke with Parade, he was quitting touring to try to mend his marriage. “When I met Sandy, I wasn’t playing professionally... neither of us had a clue what was coming.” What was coming was superstardom and all that involved. His first album in 1989 sold 9 million copies and produced two No. 1 singles. That first marriage didn’t survive, but Brooks went on to marry Trisha Yearwood and produce many more hits.
